Skilled Migration Visa

In order to fill Australia’s talent shortages, skilled individuals or families are granted visas to work and reside there. It is the most common method for skilled employees to apply for visas and is a points-based system. You can get assistance from Astra Migration Services to navigate the difficulties of this visa and make sure that you apply for the appropriate subclass of visas.

Australia's Skilled Migration Visa

Depending on their profession and if it is included on the Skilled Occupations List, the Australian Skilled Migration Program may provide invitations to qualified persons. Your profile is assessed by Australian Immigration, who determines your score based on a number of variables.

Skilled Migration Visa subclasses

The following subcategories of skilled migration visas are included:

Independent Skilled Visa (subclass 189)

The 189 visa is a points-based permanent residence visa for competent professionals who want to live and work in Australia. The 189 visa allows the holder to live permanently in Australia, travel around the continent, work, bring family members to employment or school, and sign up for Medicare.

Nominated Skilled Visa (subclass 190)

Another points-based permanent visa, the 190 visa enables qualified people to apply for a permanent residence visa after being recommended by an Australian state or territory government body, whether they are inside or outside of Australia. The holder of the visa is able to live in Australia indefinitely, move around the nation, work, enroll family members in Medicare, and bring them with them to work or school.

Regional (provisional) Skilled Visa (subclass 491)

The 491 visa is designed to enable invited skilled individuals to submit an application for a provisional visa after being nominated by an Australian State or Territory government agency or sponsored by a qualifying relative living in a specified region, whether they are inside or outside of Australia. The visa entitles the holder to travel to and from Australia as well as to live, work, and study in a certain Australian regional area. The primary route to acquiring a permanent Skilled-Regional (subclass 191) Visa is through the 5-year-long visa.
